This was done as a temporary measure since the revision 1.1 ROM of this game is not known to be dumped yet. This BPS patch must be applied to the revision 1.0 ROM of Rockman EXE 4: Tournament Blue Moon. IMPORTANT: Despite the above, for Rockman EXE 4: Tournament Blue Moon ONLY, a BPS patch is provided instead of an IPS patch. Be sure to apply the patches for these to the proper ROM revision. IMPORTANT: The Japanese Virtual Console versions of Rockman EXE 1, EXE 2, EXE 3 (regular and BLACK) and EXE 4 (Red Sun and Blue Moon) are based on the revision 1.1 ROMs. Note that some of the games share the same IPS patch for the North American and European version. One of the patches is in BPS format, which you can apply using the tool Floating IPS.Īs of now there are patches available for every single version, except for the European version of Battle Network 2, because the European Virtual Console version uses the North American ROM. The patches are in IPS format, which can be applied using Lunar IPS or similar tools. They can be applied to the GBA ROMs to turn them into their Virtual Console counterparts. You can find all patches in the ZIP file below. Note how the floor panels are less shiny and use softer colors. I have not documented all palette differences, but here is an example from BN3: This might also have something to do with the fact that the GBA Virtual Console emulator performs gamma correction. Finally, the devs went and revised a number of palettes in all of the games in order to improve the contrast and make them easier on the eyes, or to remove effects that could be seizure inducing. In BN5, a frame blending effect is applied in ACDC Town for some reason. There were fixed as well, on the ROM level. In BN4, certain chips had programming glitches that didn't show up on the GBA. ![]()
